Saife Vetmed India Introduces New Barrier-Forming In situ Wound Healing Gel for Animals.

‘Working for your need’-a motto of Saife Vetmed India is again been proven with the successful launch of ONE Vs and TWO Vs. This journey began in 2005 when the Bombay College of Pharmacy (BCP) and Bombay Veterinary College (BVC) came together to form a special team of pharmaceutical formulation researchers and veterinarians to work on animal health problems.

The team led by Dr. Mala Menon from BCP and Dr. Abdul Samad from BVC, along with 10 fellow researchers, began exploring new ways to treat common animal diseases like mastitis, wound infections, and other health issues. 

In 2015, Saife Vetmed India joined the project which was led by Dr. Ali Asgar, and soon the company took charge of commercializing the product.

The result of their efforts  is an In-situ film-forming spray made with nano silver particles, which helps wounds heal faster. Once sprayed, it forms a thin protective layer over the wound, useful for large wounds or areas that are hard to reach and where daily bandaging or dressing is difficult.

The journey had many challenges—ensuring the product was safe, easy to manufacture, and managing delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the team stayed strong with support from experts in veterinary science, pharmacy, and engineering.

After nearly ten years of hard work, the product was launched globally in February 2025 by Saife Vetmed India. This easy-to-use wound spray is now available worldwide, offering a helpful solution for farmers and animal health industry.
